Reinvent Great Britain

Theo Paphitis

Feisal Nahaboo is proud to be a key driver of the Reinvent Great Britain. The idea is to get the 'GREAT' back in Great Britain. Feisal believes we have stood too long as Britain for years and it's time to stand firm and be GREAT in years to come. The idea is to ensure that UK entrepreneurs have the ability to innovate at the highest level possible and enhance human mankind and human welfare. The campaign begins with the first 'Pracademic' Degree, to be held initially at Huddersfield University and to start in September 2009. This is one of the first-ever Entrepreneur degree of its type in the UK and LEADING ENTREPRENEUR Theo Paphitis of 'Dragons' Den' will be leading the launch.

The BA (Hons) in Enterprise Development is the brainchild of one of the UK's leading Professors of Entrepreneurship, Professor John Thompson of Huddersfield University and serial entrepreneur, Chris Owen, Marketing Director of the Royal Armouries. This is a brand new undergraduate course where the student creates and then leads the perfect turn-key business model whilst studying for a degree, a BA (Hons) in Enterprise Development. Feisal Nahaboo, Founder of PROBIZ and FNG, is a key mentor of the programme and will be instrumental to the funding required before a national roll-out across all major universities. Feisal has built successful companies of his own, but is also proven to be a driver of change in the accountancy profession and now a driver in innovation amongst the country's youth.

Feisal NahabooThe Pracademic (because it is both Practical and Academic) offers the opportunity for 15 students to be pioneers on the degree course which combines a theoretical business framework with a practical outcome of starting and running a business.

KEY POINTS

All potential students will be interviewed. As well as good A-level grades or equivalent we are looking for people who have already demonstrated entrepreneurial inclinations - (and there are many ways in which this can be done!) - and who are clear about their intent to be self employed and do something for themselves. There are no 'must-have-done' prior subjects.

The first cohort is scheduled for September 2009.

Theo Paphitis of 'Dragons' Den' has confirmed his participation in this venture. The business tycoon has agreed to be the figurehead of the Degree. Theo traveled up to Leeds to hold a press conference at the Royal Armouries on 16th September 2008 to launch this groundbreaking entrepreneurial degree. Danny Matharu was also at the launch along with Hugh Foster of Foster's Chartered Accountants, Feisal Nahaboo of PROBIZ, Chris Owen, Professor John Thompson and of course, Theo Paphitis. The team of entrepreneurs began the Reinvent Great Britain campaign.
